Description of Fellowship
Alec completed his fellowship with the Committee on Economic Development & Emerging Technologies in the Massachusetts State Legislature. Over the course of ten weeks, he worked with Committee staff and legislators to re-tool a major economic development bond bill to respond to the twin public health and economic crises unleashed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He conducted an environmental scan of other state’s economic development strategies, developed an evaluative framework for lawmakers delineating what an equitable recovery strategy for the Commonwealth should look like, and ultimately offered policy recommendations for inclusion in the final bill.
