Description of Fellowship
Caroline’s fellowship placement was with the Office of Planning and Research (OPR) in the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. As a summer fellow, she conducted research to support the How Do We Know Initiative which encourages educators to build, use, and share evidence about practice to inform policies and programs that maximize the likelihood of student success. She conducted interviews with school districts across Massachusetts to better understand how districts currently build, use, and share evidence. Caroline then drew on national scholarship about evidence use in education to make recommendations for OPR as they build resources and tools for districts to make it easier to leverage evidence to improve student outcomes.
