Clara Snijders, PhD, hales from Belgium and received both her BS and MS in psychology from the University of Belgium. She earned an additional MS and her PhD, both in fundamental neuroscience, from Maastricht University in The Netherlands.
Dr. Snijders is currently a research fellow at the Neurogenomics and Translational Bioinformatics Laboratory and an affiliate member of the Broad Institute. She is especially interested in understanding the impact of complex trauma on a molecular level, with a particular focus on epigenetic dysregulations. Dr. Snijders seeks to increase awareness of the critical need for healthy early life development, as well as identify potential disease biomarkers and drug targets to assist in treating the harmful consequences of childhood abuse.
