Planning to specialize in oncology after residency, Cody Cotner, MD, focuses on cancer survivorship care, early diagnostics, and care delivery to improve the affordability of and access to high-quality cancer care. His project aims to identify ways to improve patient-doctor conversations around serious illness. He hopes improved communication will reduce the use of aggressive cancer treatments and provide end-of-life care that aligns with a patients’ goals.
