Juliann B. Purcell, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and Research Fellow in the Dissociative Disorders and Trauma Research Program under the mentorship of Lauren Lebois, PhD and Milissa Kaufman, MD, PhD. Her research work is broadly focused on understanding the neurobiological sequelae of trauma, adversity, and substance use. With the support from the Rappaport Foundation, Juliann will investigate the potential shared neural pathways of trauma with a specific emphasis on examining relationships among brain morphology, trauma-related dissociation, and substance use. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Juliann is passionate about supporting survivors of trauma through her clinical practice, rigorous research work, and advocacy efforts aimed at reducing mental health stigma.
