This Rappaport Public Finance Summer Fellowship provides a stipend to students who undertake a project related to public finance. Traditionally these projects have been a continuation of work conducted in Greater Boston Applied Field Lab: Advanced Budgeting, Financial Management and Operations lab offered by Professor Linda Bilmes.

Project Description
Kyle Smith worked with the City of Revere’s Public Works Department. Kyle Smith focused on two initiatives: a new waste collection enterprise fund and a modernized parking meter program. Kyle built dynamic financial models with sensitivity analysis were developed to inform the mayor’s staff on the short- and long-term budget implications of the new initiatives.
