Luca Pinello, PhD, is a computational biologist and leader in developing computational methods for functional genomics, genome editing, and single-cell technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Palermo, Italy. Dr. Pinello is currently an Associate Pathologist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), an Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, and part of the MGH Center for Cancer Research. He is also an Associate Member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. His research leverages artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cutting-edge experimental assays to study genetic and epigenetic variation in human traits and diseases. A recipient of the NIH R35 Genomic Innovator Award and the Rappaport MGH Research Scholar 2024-2029, Dr. Pinello is widely recognized for his contributions to advancing genomics through innovative computational methods and impactful collaborations.
