The Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston prepares civic-minded graduate students for careers as public leaders. The Rappaport Public Policy Summer Fellowship, a 10-week paid summer internship, provides graduate students at colleges and universities throughout the Greater Boston area with hands-on experience working at state and local government agencies in Massachusetts.

Kathryn Carlson
Executive Director
Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston
Prior to joining the Rappaport Institute, Kathryn Carlson was the director of transportation for A Better City. She spent eight years as a research analyst and economist at Fidelity Investments and served in the Administration of Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle as a senior-level appointee. Kathryn holds both Bachelors of Arts and Masters of Science degrees in Economics from Wellesley College and the London School of Economics, respectively.
Jeffrey Liebman

Rappaport Institute for Greater Boston
Jeffrey Liebman, the Malcolm Wiener Professor of Public Policy, has served as Director of the Rappaport Institute since 2014. He teaches courses in public sector economics and American economic policy. He also directs the Harvard Kennedy School’s Social Impact Bond Technical Assistance Lab and the Taubman Center for State and Local Government.
